NIGHT SHIFT Residential Care Worker

Starting at 11pm through to 7am (awake shift) Campbell River and District Association for Community Living is one of the largest employers in the region, celebrating 60 successful years. This is an ideal time to join a caring, fun and enthusiastic organization which is going from strength to strength with the help of its team. This is an awake shift and whilst client care may be minimal (but necessary when required) this will involve other tasks such as housekeeping, maintenance of the environment, cooking / food preparation, administration etc. Safety and security of our clients overnight is of paramount importance. The candidate will orientate at the group home to ensure familiarity before being able to work a nightshift. Previous experience is helpful, but not essential as full training will be given

As per Collective Agreement - Grid Level 10

Requirements:

Valid Class IV Driver's License, current First Aid and CPR, current (every 3 years) TB test results, must have a current Criminal Record Check as per Association policy, and a completed Physicians Approval of Health. Food Safe Certification and Non-Violent Crisis Intervention are also required. Covid-19 vaccination certificate / secured exemption (as per the recent Public Health Order) are required to work for the organization. UPON INTERVIEW WE WILL DISCUSS THE REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications / Knowledge / Skills:

Previous experience working with people with dual diagnosis and challenging and/or aggressive behaviour is an asset, but not essential. The successful candidate must display a proven ability to calmly and effectively work with challenging and aggressive behaviour; display an understanding and ability to work with individuals with mental disability and mental illness; display enthusiasm and energy and be a contributing team member; be physically fit, willing and able to meet all physical demands of the job. Must be able to work night shifts.
