Rivercity Inclusion Society is hiring a Human Resources Director. A senior member of the management team, the Director will lead Human Resources practices to provide an employee-focused, high-performance culture that ensures empowerment, standards, productivity, and the recruitment of an exceptional workforce.
Rivercity Inclusion Society began in 1961 founded by families advocating for their children who live with developmental disabilities. These families created the four values of Respect, Fairness, Belonging, and Inclusion, which remain at the heart of the Society today.
The successful applicant will have the following education, training and/or experience, and skills:
• Must have a Human Resources degree/diploma.
• At least five years’ experience in a senior Human Resources position (ideally in a similar organization/ sector).
• Broad knowledge and experience in employment standards, labour relations law, agency development, employee relations, safety and training/ development.
• The ability to make difficult staff decisions based upon circumstances, with legal considerations.
• Above average interpersonal and coaching skills. The ability to build effective working relationships with staff of all levels of the society.
• The ability to participate and interact effectively as a member of the Senior Management team and provide agency direction.
• Has above average verbal and written communication skills. Excellent organization and delegation skills. Flexible and adaptable and working with minimal supervision.
• Demonstrates integrity as a leader, both to staff and clients. Act as a role model for staff by contributing to a positive and respectful attitude to clients and colleagues.
• Possess the personal qualities and attitudes as expected under the four pillars of Respect-Fairness-Belonging-Inclusion.
• Ability to be confident and comfortable working with the Collective Agreement requirements in practice.
• Strong IT skills – including Microsoft, Outlook, Excel, Comvida Payroll & HR system usage helpful

This position is a full-time permanent position of 37.5 hours per week working Monday-Friday, on-site in Campbell River. The salary range for this position is $80,000-$90,000 commensurate with experience. This is an exempt position.
