CARF: Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities - CARF provides accreditation services worldwide at the request of health and human service providers

VIHA: Vancouver Island Health Authority - Island Health provides health care to more than 765,000 people on Vancouver Island, the islands of the Georgia Strait, and in the mainland communities north of Powell River and south of Rivers Inlet

PCTIA: Private Career Training Agency of British Columbia - PCTIA sets basic education standards for registered private career training institutions in British Columbia and establishes standards of quality which must be met by accredited institutions.

CACL: Canadian Association for Community Living - The Canadian Association for Community Living is a family-based association assisting people with intellectual disabilities and their families to lead the way in advancing inclusion in their own lives and in their communities.

Inclusion BC: Formerly, the BC Association for Community Living - Inclusion BC is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting the participation of people with developmental disabilities in all aspects of community life.

RCW: residential care worker - the residential care worker works as a member of a team responsible for assisting the residents with activities of daily living and to provide opportunities to promote independence and self-esteem

CSW: community support worker - the community support worker is responisble for assisting the participants with their day to day life skills; to include social, vocational, leisure, health, and fitness

Adult Programs - If someone is interested in any of our adult services programs, they need to contact their local CLBC, Community Living BC, office and ask to speak to a faciliator, who will then refer that person to us. 

Child & Youth Programs - Dogwood Place has an open referral process, which means the parent/guardian of the child or anyone with the parent/guardians' consent can make a referral. For inquiries, please call (250) 286-0955
