Services for children/youth with mental health concerns.

PacificCARE (1-888-480-2273):

Assists parents in finding child care for infants and children up to age 12. Also offers support to people providing child care.


Public Health – Vancouver Island Health Authority (850-2110):

Information/support re: prenatal care, breastfeeding, infant care/growth and development, postpartum adjustment, parenting, birth control, nutrition, community resources, adult and child immunization clinics, confidential STD clinics.


Precious Beginnings – Kwakiutl District Council Health (286-9766)

This program is a First Nations Inuit Health Branch initiative serving high risk women using alcohol and/or drugs during pregnancy and their families.


Women’s Centre (287-3044)

Education/information re: family violence, parenting, health issues, abusive relationships, legal issues, human rights.
