Position: Support Worker
Nature of position:
Mon, Wed, Fri 10am – 1pm and Tues, Thur 9am – 1:15pm
Rate of pay: with ECE Grid Level 10; ECE-A Grid level 6
Preference given to a Childhood Educator with current BC License to practice as an early Childhood Educator. Three years’ experience working in an inclusive child care setting. Consideration may be given to applicants who have ECE Assistant certification or have completed grade 12 and are enrolled in Early Childhood Certificate Program, or completing work experience required for licensing. Current Criminal Record Checks, physician approval, TB test results, First Aid and CPR required as per Association policy.
Qualifications / Knowledge / Skills:
Ability to collaborate and work effectively as a member of an inter-professional team. Strong oral communication, organizational, and documentation skills. Ability to provide a calm, healthy, responsive relationship with the child and to establish and maintain supportive, collaborative relationships with families and child care setting staff. Able to work independently and efficiently with minimum supervision. Ability to maintain confidentiality and maintain a positive, professional, non-judgmental attitude. Must be physically fit, willing and able to meet all physical demands of the job.
