Position: STANDING JOB POSTING-SECOND COOK

We are looking to hire a second cook on a casual / on-call basis to join our team at Ironwood.
At Ironwood Place (part of Campbell River and District Association for Community Living) we assist our senior residents to live comfortably and safely within their own home. This is a modern 54 apartment facility which works closely on-site with other industry related organizations. We provide a range of hospitality services that promote independence, choice and dignity, including two meals a day recreational activities and housekeeping services.
Rate of pay: Starting at $21.20 as per Collective Agreement Grid Level 9. To a Maximum of $24.68
Location: Ironwood Place, Campbell River
Current First Aid and CPR, Negative TB test results, must have a current Criminal Record Check as per Association policy, and a completed Physicians Approval of Health. Food Safe Certificate Level 2 is required.
Grade 10 education. Graduation from a program or institution or residential quantity cooking
Qualifications / Knowledge / Skills:
The successful candidate should have cooking experience within a kitchen of a similar size to Ironwood. They must have the ability to work as a productive and interactive team member, be able to deal effectively and calmly in crisis situations. Have strong oral and written communication skills and be physically fit, willing and able to meet all physical demands of the job.
Duties include preparing, cooking, baking, serving meals and snacks, including those for special dietary needs and special occasions, in accordance with safety and health standards and the menu plan. Supervising activities of servers and bussers. Ensuring the cleanliness and maintenance of cooking facilities and equipment. Reviewing the meal preparation needs of the facility. Assisting in maintaining an inventory of food and other related items.
