Position: RESIDENTIAL CARE WORKER-Casual up to 40 hrs

Casual and on-call
Various, up to 40 hours per week.
Residential Care Workers are required for our casual pool of staff.
Campbell River and District Association for Community Living has 7 residential group homes across Campbell River, Oyster River and Comox.
As a residential care worker you would be working with our clients in their home, as such the range of tasks is wide and varied. Our clients have differing needs, abilities and interests and therefore this is not a 9-5 Monday-Friday job, but if you wanted, can be a successful, rewarding career for life.

Rate of pay: Starting at $21.63 as per Collective Agreement Grid Level 10, this increases up to a maximum of $25.19
Location: ALL RESIDENTIAL PROGRAMS:CAMPBELL RIVER, OYSTER RIVER, COMOX
Valid Class IV Driver's License, current First Aid and CPR, current (every 3 years) TB test results, must have a current Criminal Record Check as per Association policy, and a completed Physicians Approval of Health. Food Safe Certification and Non Violent Crisis Intervention are also required.

Qualifications / Knowledge / Skills:
Human Services Worker Certification, or certification in a relevant field preferred, but not essential. Orientation and full training is given.
Three to Six month's prior job experience (paid or volunteer), working with people with developmental disabilities is an asset.
Must display a proven ability to calmly and effectively work with individuals with complex support needs and associated behaviours. Must display enthusiasm, energy and a willingness to be flexible in adapting to a varied schedule.
Union Status: Community Living Services Collective Agreement
Own Vehicle Requirements: Must have own vehicle and business insurance (which will be compensated for)
